MATIAS

Situated in a lush green valley surrounded by high Pyrenean peaks, Casa Matias is located in the village of Plan in the Chistau valley at 1100m altitude. 

This three story house looks onto the road leading up to the local church. The church bells do not ring at night. You enter directly into the open plan kitchen/living/dining room. A staircase leads down to what was formerly the stable, now home to a large stone fireplace and decorated with solid wooden furniture. This room also leads out onto the pathway behind the house.The four bedrooms, all with double bed, are located on the second and third floor; each floor has its own bathroom. 

Thanks to the cheerful yellow hue of the walls and the light which streams through the windows, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The interior is furnished with terracotta tiled and wooden floors, built in wooden wardrobes made by the local carpenter and a solid kitchen table made from the old beams of the house. From the living room, guests can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley, namely of Plan d’Escun and the mountain Peña Martin. 

Casa Matias is a great departure point for excursions to the surrounding Pyrenean meadows, peaks and lakes.Depending on the season, you can pick wild mushrooms, blackberries, raspberries, hazelnuts and walnuts, and of course not to be missed is a visit to the ethnological museum in neighbouring San Juan de Plan. In Plan, you have a public swimming pool open in the summer months, tourist office, shops, bank, chemist, health centre, bakery, restaurants, bars…
